At SLT, some core business processes were embedded into mission critical legacy applications, which were very rigid. They were tightly coupled with business and operational support systems, therefore introducing digital products had been virtually impossible. They wanted us to provide a solution to be agile in a digital environment, without disruption to mission critical applications.
We created a set of re-usable, componentized business
services using a standard data model (Shared Information & Data model-
provided by the tele management forum). We architected the solution using
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles, designing a state-of-the-art
customer engagement platform on top of the legacy application. With the core
application now having robustness and agility, they are able to deploy digital
services, without making changes or affecting the underlying mission critical
processes.
